In the summer of 2011, Danielle participated in USF's
Globalization and Community Health Field School in Monteverde, Costa
Rica. During her time in country, Danielle learned basic anthropology and
public health research techniques and she worked in a group studying adolescent
alcohol and tobacco use. The study incorporated data gathered from focus
groups, surveys and interviews from over 70 participants (given in Spanish and
English). At the end of the course, presentations were given to the
community in both English and Spanish.
